Kanakapura has more than 17,000 silk farmers producing 30-35 tons of silk every day with each ton fetching Rs. 350/- and higher quality BiVoltine fetching Rs 450/- per ton.
New building for silk board was constructed which provides a new platform for trade, education and other important admin works
Educational workshops for the silk farmers are conducted here on a regular basis

An average 3000 – 4000 liters are dispensed at each outlet with Sathanur dispensing 8000 setting a record
